Netra Pindi (Herbal Eye Poultice Therapy)
Relieves strain, cools, and rejuvenates the eyes through herbal paste application
Description
Netra Pindi is a traditional Ayurvedic therapy designed to relax, soothe, and revitalize tired or inflamed eyes. The term Pindi refers to a soft poultice or bolus made of freshly prepared herbal paste, which is applied over the closed eyelids to deliver cooling and nourishing effects.
In this treatment, a mixture of specific Chakshushya (eye-strengthening) herbs are prepared into a paste using herbal decoction. This paste is wrapped in fine cotton and gently placed over the eyes while the patient rests comfortably in a relaxed, supine position. The mild warmth or coolness of the herbal poultice, depending on the condition being treated, allows the therapeutic properties to penetrate through the eyelids, reducing strain and inflammation.
Netra Pindi helps cleanse toxins from the ocular region, alleviates puffiness and dark circles, and promotes a sense of relaxation and clarity. It is often recommended after long hours of visual work, excessive screen exposure, or environmental irritation.
