Netra Tarpana (Rejuvenating Eye Care Therapy)

Nourishes and rejuvenates the eyes through herbal ghee treatment

Description

Netra Tarpana is a specialized Ayurvedic therapy designed to nourish, strengthen, and rejuvenate the eyes. The term Netra means "eyes," and Tarpana means "nourishment" or "saturation." In this treatment, a gentle dam made of dough (prepared from black gram flour) is built around the eyes to create a well-like structure. Warm, medicated ghee (clarified butter) is then poured into the well, bathing the eyes while the guest remains in a relaxed, supine position with their eyes open.

This therapy helps balance the Pitta dosha, which governs vision and heat in the body, and is especially beneficial in countering the effects of prolonged screen exposure, excessive reading, pollution, and stress. Netra Tarpana improves the clarity of vision, reduces eye strain, and promotes deeper ocular lubrication and vitality. The medicated ghee used in the therapy contains herbs that support eye health, detoxify ocular tissues, and soothe inflammation.
