Yoni Dhawana (Vaginal Cleansing Therapy for Reproductive and Genital Health)

Description

Yoni Dhawana, also known as Vaginal Douche or Cleansing Therapy, is a localized Ayurvedic treatment designed to purify, soothe, and rejuvenate the female genital and reproductive region. The term "Yoni" refers to the vaginal canal, and "Dhawana" means washing or cleansing.

In this therapy, a warm herbal decoction (Kashaya) or medicated liquid is gently poured or irrigated over the vaginal region under sterile conditions. The selection of herbs depends on the doshic imbalance and the specific condition being treated — commonly using Triphala, Panchavalkala, Lodhra, Neem, or Guduchi preparations.

Yoni Dhawana effectively alleviates infections, itching, discharge, and inflammation, while promoting hygiene, tissue healing, and balance of Apana Vata and Pitta doshas. It is also used as a preparatory or post-procedural therapy before or after Uttara Basti, Yoni Pichu, or Yoni Varti treatments.
