Karna Poorana (Therapeutic Ear Oil Treatment)
Lubricates, cleanses, and nourishes the ear canal through warm medicated oil
Description
Karna Poorana is a classical Ayurvedic therapy aimed at maintaining and enhancing ear health. The term Karna means "ear" and Poorana means "filling." In this procedure, warm, medicated herbal oil is gently poured into the ear canal while the client lies in a comfortable side-lying position. The oil is retained in the ear for a specific duration before being drained and cleaned. This therapy can be part of a daily wellness routine (Dinacharya) or administered as a therapeutic treatment.
The warmth and herbal potency of the oil help dissolve wax buildup, soothe dryness and irritation, and calm Vata dosha, which is predominantly located in the head and ears. Karna Poorana not only helps relieve ear-related disorders but also supports jaw and neck health, improves hearing, and promotes deep relaxation by stimulating the nervous system through the auditory canal.
