Avagahana Sveda (Herbal Tub Bath)

Relaxes the body, soothes the joints, and rejuvenates tissues

Description

A variety of hot tub baths are utilized in Ayurveda to relieve body aches, pain, and joint problems, while also cleansing and regenerating body tissues. The therapy begins with a thorough massage using Ayurvedic oils, after which the individual lies in a tub filled with a warm herbal decoction. This process promotes deep relaxation and enhances energy levels.

Svedana is a treatment designed to induce sweating, which occurs through the hair follicles. Steam plays a crucial role in this process by dilating the body's cells and channels, allowing toxins to be mobilized and eliminated. As a result, the body's digestive fire (Agni) is stimulated, supporting the breakdown and expulsion of Ama (toxins). Svedana also helps regulate the body's water metabolism. The use of specific herbs in the decoction provides targeted detoxification and therapeutic benefits.

This is a gentle form of Svedana which is beneficial for all, especially for individuals who cannot tolerate other forms of steam/Svedana procedures.
