Jambira Swedana (Lemon Sudation)
Description
Jambira Swedana is a dry type of Svedana (sudation) performed on specific areas of the body. In this therapy, fresh or dried lemon (Jambira) is crushed or powdered, sometimes combined with selected herbs, and wrapped into a bolus. After applying an oil massage, the warm bolus is applied in a rhythmic, tapping motion over the affected area. This method helps reduce heaviness and digest or dislodge localized Ama (toxins).
Svedana promotes sweating through hair follicles and fat tissues, dilates channels, mobilizes toxins, and stimulates the digestive fire (Agni) to aid in the removal of Ama. The citrus properties of lemon provide additional therapeutic benefits, including anti-inflammatory and detoxifying effects, making this treatment particularly effective for joint and muscle stiffness.

Indications
- Swelling and inflammation in joints
- Painful or stiff joints, arthritis, and minor deformities
- Muscle tension, cramps, and fatigue
- Localized heaviness or accumulation of Ama
Duration
15 minutes (extendable up to 60 minutes depending on area and clinical need)
