Pizhichil (Whole Body Oil Bath)

Promotes deep relaxation, inner healing, and a sense of wholeness

Description

The tradition of the oil bath is very ancient in Ayurveda. It continues to be practiced in traditional families, especially in South India. This treatment is highly revered in classical Ayurvedic texts.

The process begins in a calm and silent environment, where a relaxing massage is first administered. Then, a group of therapists enters the room with a shared sense of peace and meditative energy, creating a harmonious atmosphere for the therapy. Two therapists, in perfect rhythm and with healing intention, pour a continuous stream of warm Ayurvedic oil from the lower part of the body upward and vice versa, synchronously with gentle massage.

The smooth and soft touch combined with the warmth of the oil and the loving care of the therapists continues for an hour. This experience creates a feeling akin to being in the womb: deeply soothing, nurturing, and freeing at the core level. The prime energy of healing is gently awakened, nurtured, and stimulated through this process.

Pizhichil fosters a sense of completeness and inner harmony. A feeling of wholeness begins to emerge, allowing love, happiness, and transcendence to arise from within.

Note: This therapy is administered only after Whole Body Abhyanga ( Massage) and followed by an Avagaha sveda
