Therapeutic Spinal Abhyanga
Restore the spine — the sheath of the Chakras — and release blocked energy through targeted massage
Description
Due to a busy lifestyle and neglect of routine health care, we may strain or injure our back. Additionally, the adverse effects of medications or poor diet can lead to the loss of elasticity in muscles and ligaments, or even cause bony degeneration. This can result in anything from a simple backache to severe complications. In such cases, Merudanda Abhyanga(spinal massage) can be very helpful either on its own or in combination with other therapies.
The spine is the sheath of the Cakras, from which all Nadis (nerves) are distributed throughout the body. Ayurvedic practices play an essential role in maintaining and improving spinal health. This Abhyanga involves the application of various oils, herbs, and massage techniques.
Poor posture, prolonged sitting or standing, excessive driving, being overweight, emotional stress, or strenuous work can all contribute to back problems. These issues may manifest as mild discomfort, severe pain, neurological disorders, or psycho-emotional blockages. In Ayurveda, spinal Abhyanga is administered with great care and consideration.
